The Champions Program connects you with executives in your field, so you can make influential connections, build powerful alliances, and have a voice in the rooms you aren't in yet.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Champions Program fuels women's career growth in the tech industry through sponsorship, not just guidance. We are bringing in seasoned tech leaders to become your champions - advocating for you, leveraging their influence and networks to unlock doors to those big, game-changing opportunities.
This kind of sponsorship is vital for women, addressing the challenges we face in this predominantly male industry. Through the Champions Program, expect to gain invaluable insights, access to critical projects, and advocacy in important decision-making arenas. This sponsorship is about empowering you to not just participate in tech but to lead and innovate, breaking through barriers and setting new standards in the industry.
The Toast Champions Program is an opportunity to transform your career trajectory, offering a pathway to significant roles and a network of influential advocates dedicated to your success.
Men's involvement is vital because they hold the majority of leadership positions in tech. Given the natural tendency of individuals to gravitate towards those similar to themselves, men are more likely to sponsor other men. However, through targeted training and awareness, men can learn to become effective sponsors for women, challenging this unconscious bias.
We understand that not all men truly understand how to sponsor women. We believe in providing practical tools and education to men as they grow as allies to women in the tech community.
Our Program Manager for Toast, Tynan Allan, is a Certified DEI Practitioner who will be overseeing the evidence-based curriculum that our Champions will be going through. Taking a no-BS, trauma-informed approach to allyship, masculinity in the workplace and more, the Champions will be well-equipped to open doors and provide guidance, while strengthening their self-awareness and furthering their understanding of how patriarchy harms us all
